One person plays lap steel guitar on one Beatles recording. That is John Lennon, on 'For You Blue', written and sung by Harrison, on the Let It Be album, cut 25 January 1969. The record is from 1970. 'For You Blue' is one of the few with Blüthner grand piano, one of only four of their recordings like that.
