Four people play timpani on seven Beatles recordings. Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr each plays timpani on three of them, ahead of George Harrison and Tristan Fry on one each. Timpanis run from 1964 to 1969, and 1967 has more of them than any other year, three of the four. McCartney wrote six of the seven that carry the timpani, more than anyone else.
