A short-scale bass built by the British maker Burns of London in the mid-1960s.

It was used on three recordings, 'Good Day Sunshine' (played by George Harrison), 'Fixing a Hole' and 'Getting Better', from 1966 to 1967, all three written by McCartney, sung by Paul, split between Revolver and the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album. Geoff Emerick engineered three of them, with Ken Scott on 'Getting Better'.
