Bridge in IV
The bridge begins on the IV chord rather than the tonic.
14
songs
It turns up on fourteen recordings, for nearly the whole run, 1963 to 1969. 'Do You Want to Know a Secret' came first, on the Please Please Me album, and 'Because' last, on Abbey Road. It is in and out of their records across the nine years, with nothing from 1964 or 1966. The lead vocals go John on four, Paul on four and George on three. Three of them share it on 'Because'. McCartney and Lennon reach for it at the same rate, 7% and 6% of their own songs. Of those, 'Wait' is in F♯ minor, one of only two of their recordings in that key.
