songs
For nearly the whole run, 1963 to 1970, eight recordings have it. The first is 'Ask Me Why' and the last 'Dig It'. 'There's a Place' and 'I Call Your Name' have it too, and John sings seven of the eight. It is in and out of their records across the nine years, with nothing from 1965 or 1969. The lead vocal is John's on six of the eight, against one for Paul. Of those, 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' has French horn solo on it, one of only two of their recordings that do.
