Absurdist humor

Comic non sequiturs, nonsense imagery, or surreal punchlines.

songs
It is in the words of thirteen songs, from 1965 to 1970. More of Abbey Road has it than any other album, four of its seventeen tracks. 'Bad Boy' is the earliest and 'One After 909' the last. More of them come from 1967 on than from the first four years, twelve against one. John owns the singing here, six of the thirteen, three for Paul, and the two of them together on two, with Ringo on one. Lennon wrote eight of the thirteen, among them 'Come Together' and 'I Am the Walrus', 8% of his songs against 3% of McCartney's. On 'Revolution 9' it is Welsh Rarebit, umpty-dumpty jewel finders. On 'Dig a Pony', the nonsense verbs paired with non-sequiturs. Of those, 'I Am the Walrus' has contrabass clarinet, and only one other recording does.
