The cowbell runs from 1964 to 1969, on thirteen records. It sits thickest on the A Hard Day's Night album, three of its thirteen tracks. It starts with 'You Can't Do That' and ends with 'Polythene Pam'. Ringo Starr plays it on eight of them. On 'It's All Too Much' it is Paul McCartney, alongside his bass and handclaps. On 'Taxman' it is Ringo's cowbell hits punctuate the verse. Of the thirteen, 'Dizzy Miss Lizzy' has Vox Continental on it, one of only three of their recordings that do.
