From 1965 to 1969, it was used on twelve recordings. 'Drive My Car' is the earliest and 'You Never Give Me Your Money' the last. Two of them are 'The Word' and 'You Won't See Me' (played by Paul McCartney), and Paul sings nine of the twelve. More of them come from 1967 on than from the first four years, eight against three. The lead vocal is Paul's on six of the twelve, one for John, and the two of them together on three, with George on one and Ringo on one. McCartney wrote eight of the twelve, 'Penny Lane' and 'The Fool on the Hill' among them, 9% of his songs against 4% of Harrison's. On 'Tomorrow Never Knows' it is EMI Studios Challen jangle-box tack piano, played by George Martin. On 'Old Brown Shoe' it was played by George Harrison. Of those, 'Tomorrow Never Knows' is one of five of their recordings with tack piano.
