Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise)

1967 · Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

“We're Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band”

A hard-rock reprise of the album's title track, conceived late in production as a bookend before 'A Day in the Life'. Recorded in a single session on April 1 1967 in EMI Studio One, with all four Beatles sharing lead vocals over distorted twin guitars, Hammond organ, and shouted interjections. Modulates from F major to G major between its two refrain iterations.
